I’m excitedly waiting for my new-to-me 2022 Taycan GTS to arrive in a couple of weeks! While preparing for its arrival, I want to ensure I have the right adapter to charge it using my Tesla Wall Connector. We also own a Tesla Model X Plaid, so the Tesla charger is already set up and working perfectly for that.
Here’s my situation:
Here’s my situation:
- The GTS I purchased has both the 19.2kW on-board charger and the 150kW/400V on-board charger.
- My Wall Connector is set up on a circuit that charges the Tesla up to 48A, with a 60A breaker.

- Lightning adapters rated for 80A.
- My primary concern is ensuring compatibility with the Taycan’s charging capabilities. I doubt I’ll ever need to use the adapter at a Tesla Supercharger, it would only be for emergency use if that happened.
