I’ve been a Porsche enthusiast for years, owning several models, but my 2023 Taycan 4S has been a major disappointment. The car is fantastic when it works, but reliability issues have had it spending more time in the shop than on the road. With over two months in the shop in just under two years, I’ve had really crazy problems, from central heating failure to software glitches and even seat issues. I’ve since traded it for a BMW iX, which, while different, offers better reliability and range. Even with this...I still have deposits down for the Macan EV, hoping Porsche can learn from the Taycan and improve.

I think you are the first person I have heard complaining about it. I am sorry for being so unlucky. What improvements are you hoping for on the Macan?

I’m hoping for better overall reliability and fewer software glitches. The Taycan has great potential, but I’d love to see Porsche focus more on quality control and consistency in future models.

I think reliability is such a make-or-break factor, especially with new EVs like this. I have to say, moving to the iX sounds like a solid choice for range and day-to-day dependability. Hopefully, Porsche takes feedback like yours seriously and steps up their game with the Macan EV. It’s always hard to let go of a brand you love, but sometimes practicality wins out, right?

Exactly, reliability really is key. It was tough to move on from Porsche, but the iX offers the peace of mind I needed.
