Hello, guys! Does anyone know the current availability of Taycan EV technicians in the U.S. (I am from Wisconsin), as of late 2024? I had an I-Pace previously and the EV technician availability was pretty limited. As far as I know, there is often only one certified tech for an entire region. This is a common "issue" for EVs across brands. Is Porche dealing with similar challenges or do they have better technician coverage?

EV technician availability can be a challenge, and it’s something that varies by brand and region. I’ve heard that their service network is growing as Taycan sales increase. That said, in more rural areas like parts of Wisconsin, it’s not uncommon for there to be just one or two certified EV technicians per region. It might be worth calling your local Porsche dealer to check their staffing and technician availability. Another tip is to ask about mobile service options, some brands are starting to offer these for minor EV repairs. Hopefully, it’s better than what you experienced with the I-Pace!

Porsche has been expanding its technician network for EVs, but availability can still vary by region. Wisconsin may have limited coverage, but it’s improving.
