I just got my Taycan and I'm loving it so far! But a random question popped into my head: do the brake lights light up when using regenerative braking? Just want to make sure I don't surprise anyone on the road!
Don't worry, your brake lights won't go out when you use that fancy regenerative braking! They simply activate when you slow down quickly enough, much like a built-in safety feature. I can attest to it.
your brake lights will activate instantly once it senses that you slow down even just for a bit. This is a very useful feature that is sought after by EV owners.
Just to add, your brake lights won't come on with normal regenerative braking. They only activate when the regeneration is strong enough to slow the car down significantly...
Looks like they don't. I've been looking into the deceleration and it seems like it's not up to par. It doesn't meet the legal requirements. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue.
Although I read somewhere someone confirming it does but only when regen is in auto mode and it’s decelerating at a significant rate.
I'm still a little lost with these new cars! I was driving with my uncle, and he was freaking out because he thought I was riding the brakes the whole time. I was just coasting! I guess we all need a driver's ed class for these new cars LOL.
