Yes, you can use Tesla chargers with a Taycan, but only the ones with CCS compatibility. Tesla has started opening up some Superchargers to non-Tesla EVs in certain areas. You’ll need to check the Tesla app to see which ones are available for your car. If you’re talking about Tesla Destination Chargers, you’ll need a J1772-to-Tesla adapter. I’ve done it myself with no issues. Just make sure you check the station before heading out!
From what I’ve heard, Taycans in the US have limited access to superchargers. By using the Tesla app and setting your vehicle to a Taycan, you can view the available locations.
There are plenty of spots now where non-Tesla EVs can juice up, and I’ve had zero issues charging my Taycan at one. They’ve got something called a “magic dock.” Basically, it automatically provides a CCS adapter when you select the option to charge a non-Tesla vehicle. It’s simple, works smoothly, and no separate adapter is needed, it’s all built into the dock.
